Phase 2 of the Covid-19 retail transformation story

Since March this year, we have seen so many positive retail “Covid-19 transformation tools” providing people reassurance that it’s safe to shop in stores.

But 6 months down the track, we are witnessing another transformation.

Enter phase two!

Covid-19 was not in any of our marketing plans for 2020.

The wonderful "Covid Safe" retail mechanisms including social distancing messaging on decals and signage, hand sanitising stations, and people counting tools, were critical ingredients to enable retailers to operate with Covid-19 safe shopper spaces. But many of these initial tools were created out of necessity with a temporary and robotic feel; 'more function, less marketing'.

Retailers had successfully pivoted to provide safe environments for employees, suppliers and customers, but phase one was largely reactionary.

In phase two, retailers are seeking longer term solutions that align with their brands intended customer experience.

So the question now is,

We created safe spaces to trade, but now that we are in this for the long haul, how can we elevate the “Covid safe space” to be perfectly integrated into the brands story?
